For the price it will work but I had to change the way I marked and drilled the holes. The instructions that came with it aren't the best. The included 1/4 bit was too big for the 1/4 hole on the device, but don't worry I had the right bit. I didn't mark the centerline with the device, I just used my own centerline marker. I then used a nail punch to mark where I wanted to drill the hole. Then I lined up the hole with the device, found the punched hole, put in the drill and drilled the hole. I would recommend that you practice using this dowel tool before using it on your work piece.
