I ordered this pump in September 2016 and although it worked great for a year the seal or pump housing failed two years in a row. Here's what I sent to Wayne Pumps Customer Service: On September 13, 2016, I purchased a Wanye Pumps SW50 1/2 HP jet pump through Revain.com. A year later, the seal between the pump and motor failed. Wayne Pumps honored their warranty by sending me another SW50 pump. The seal also failed on this pump. I can't understand what's going on here. I have had this farm for 25 years and have never had a pump failure like this until I ordered this model: SW50. As I said I have had this yard for 25 years since 1993. I have had many shallow well pumps and they fail within 5-10 years but not every year. Last time I spoke to your guarantors they said I had abandoned my water lines and pumped out before winter. But I do it very carefully because the pump can fail if it's not winterized.- 1) I throw out all my electrical switches, 2) then I drain any external lines that might be pressurized, 3) then I disconnect all water lines connected to the pump and 4) then pull the filler plug on top of the unit for the whole winter. At the beginning of each year I always have to top up my pumps to keep them working. This year is no different. In no case can the pump build up pressure. This year when I reconnected all my inlet and outlet water lines and primed the pump, as it started to build up pressure I noticed water dripping from the bottom of the pump. . Now how can this pump be damaged by frozen water when no water is connected and the pump is drained and needs to be primed to fill the pump? If you can't send me a replacement pump, send me a new seal if you can. And tell me why this pump model fails after a year of use? This is madness.
