Same brand the hospital gave us

My mom got some of these from the hospital after they inserted a catheter in her chest. They told us it was extremely important to not get the catheter wet because it would cause infection which could be fatal. It took us a time or two to get it just right, but once we figured out how to apply it so that there would be no leaks we have used these successfully for 8 weeks now (showering every other day) and have had only very minor leaks a few times. This was probably due to not sealing it well enough or getting too much direct water running over it. I do help my mom shower so that she stands not facing the water, I would be too nervous to have her try it on her own knowing how dangerous it could be to get the catheter wet, but I think if you did shower on your own it would be fine as long as you didn't let the water hit directly above it and pool up on the top since the seal isn't all the way to the edge and it could create a leak. I was so glad to find these on amazon and even happier that they weren't outrageously priced. Hopefully we will be done with them in a few more months, but until then I will continue to order since they have worked so well for us.

Pros
  • Perfect for covering surgical incisions. Adhesive strong enough for two uses. Highly recommend.
Cons
  • It did not stick. Bought to cover J tube so my son could swim. But did not work.
