Review on Bosch OSL114F 3 Starlock Oscillating Bi Metal by Don Pintac

NOT compatible with Starlock tools; requires special Starlock Max tools. This may seem obvious to some, but not to me, although I tried to be clear BEFORE ordering this blade. some interchangeability is possible. Web searches for the differences between the 3 and resulted in an article that focuses on the "backward compatibility" aspect for the 3 variants of StarLock, but also seems to imply that there may be interchangeability between them. Nothing in the UI of the Starlock and Starlock Max locks indicates that they will be incompatible as the Max variant appears to be a subset of the base variant. But it doesn't fit. The round shank of basic Starlock tools (e.g. the tool from the Bosch GOP40-30C StarlockPlus set) is wider than the Starlock Max blade holder, so you cannot mount the blade on the tool. I understand that this is to prevent the fitting of incorrect blades which could compromise or damage the tool. For example, such a longer blade requires more torque from the tool. But a less misleading interface design would really help fans (the Starlock patent/trademark holders) here.
