My shower temperature hysteresis problem has been solved
After 6 years of regular use, the shower handle stopped responding linearly. That means I would have to turn the handle all the way to get hot water, but then it would be too hot. And then when I try to lower the temperature by turning it back, it doesn't respond until I turn it much closer to the cold side, and then it suddenly gets too cold. Replacing it fixed the issue.
