I really like the weight of these towels. I bought the 10 ounce version because I read the reviews about the lighter versions. Didn't think I needed the 12 ounce versions. I'm just a homeowner so they will surely last a lifetime to cover furniture and protect our floors while we repaint a room. I can't comment on their ability to absorb/repel liquids, but I'm a careful painter and rarely get too many drips. I bought both 4 packs and one large. The homeowner is certainly worth the investment as hardwood floors have suddenly become a very expensive proposition. If you are concerned about leakage, recommend buying cheap plastic from the big department stores to use as a pad. Belts and braces, but then you know you're 100% protected.
