Switched my boring 1Gbps switch in my office to this one. 3 10Gbps ports means my network "backbone" is 10Gbps. This allows you to connect multiple "fast" devices together (main desktop in one location, NAS in another, etc.). Will it make your internet faster? Oh no. Will it make your home network faster? Definitive. Overall, this switch is a good compromise between price and speed. Get multiple 10Gb ports, don't spend $10,000 on a 10Gb switch. It's ugly, but there's literally no other option on the market at this price point other than a 5-port MikroTik SFP+ switch, which I'll eventually get to power the other end of my 10Gb/s home backbone terminate.
