When we moved into our new home (new build) we had leftover paint left in the original cans with lots of paint under the lid. We even have leftover paint in 5 gallon plastic cans, and opening and closing those 5 gallon cans isn't easy. So I bought some plastic containers and filled them with leftover paint. I made sure there was no paint on the top of the jar and gently sealed it with a rubber mallet. It's a lot easier to make a pint sized rigid can than it is to make a 5 gallon pail. I used our labeling machine to create the labels for each jar as black plastic is not easy to write on.
