great light for the price -- still working great for over a year after other lights have died

Great quality for the price. I bought several different lights about a year ago to see how they did over time -- many solar-powered lights work well for a few weeks/months then stop working. These have continued to light well for over a year, and they were my choice to install in the rest of the yard. They work well in bright sunlight as well as in the more shady areas of my yard that don't get direct light. For reviewers who were saying "I expected more, these lights are expensive" -- you're kidding, right? They're $15 apiece! Try pricing out "professionally installed" all-metal yard lights.they're 2x to 5x more expensive. These lights are cheap which is why some of the components are plastic. You get what you pay for.Yes, the plastic "stalk" is weak, so you can't shove it into the ground with force. I spiked a hole in the ground using garden tools, and then pushed in the plastic stalk and refilled dirt around it, which worked fine.I used the batteries that came with it -- you have to remember to remove the "pull tab" so the batteries can function! Some commenters apparently replaced the batteries which I've never had to do (yet). Also you have to remember to remove the thin plastic film over the top light cell -- it's not very obvious to the eye when you set up the light, but if you forget to remove it, the plastic eventually weathers and starts bubbling and streaking, which looks ugly, even though the light still works. That might be the cause of what some comments are complaining about "plastic bubbles" -- it's the protective shipping wrap you're supposed to peel off before use.
