I ordered these lights to illuminate my work in an otherwise very dark basement hallway. You are perfect! You can attach them to walls or ceilings with tape or screws (both included). With the remote control you can use the timer function or even dim the light to any desired level. The lamp body swivels and tilts so you can direct the light where you want. The circle of light is obviously brighter as you place it closer to the artwork, but at 4ft each emits a bright light about 2ft in diameter. My artwork is 5 feet long so I decided to use three lights. I've included a picture with the lights off so you can see the awesome difference they make when they're on! All three work simultaneously from one remote control. The light is a pretty white LED light so the artwork really pops! The literature says the batteries (3 AA each) should last around 50 hours, but will last longer if you use them on the dimmer level. I just posted it today so I'm not sure if that's true.
