Fake bear traps/bike pedal pegs at a bargain price. I set them up on a dresser as travel clips. They work great and look good. A dab of Loctite on the screws after you've installed them the way you want them and you should be fine. If you really want to go all out, visit your local hardware store and upgrade your hardware. Mine shouldn't be subjected to a lot of pressure/weight at the crash site.
