Review on HawkEye Fishtrax 1C Fish Finder: HD Color Virtuview Display for Optimal Fishing Results by Ynot Karlen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it so far, a good accessory for my fishing kayak.

I give NorCross HawkEye FishTrax FT1PX 4 stars. I bought this for my Tarpon 140 fishing kayak. I connected it to the Scotty Transducer Arm Mount and the Scotty Portable Camera Mount. The echo sounder has a practical screw attachment. I thought Scotty's camera mount would easily hold the fish finder. I'm a minimalist when it comes to my fishing kayak. I don't want many things in it and I don't want many things attached to it. If I don't need or want to use the sonar, this setting allows me to easily remove it. Does the converter appear to have a front and a back? One end is pointed, the other end is rounded. The instructions don't say which end should face forward. I contacted NorCross Marine through their website. After 9 days of waiting I finally got an answer. Basically they didn't know. The instructions show a round transducer, there was no round transducer in the box. For now, I've attached it with the rounded part facing forward. The instructions say that the transducer signal comes from the base. So maybe there is no "front” or "back”. I have fished several lakes and ponds mainly to determine the structure and depth of the water. The sonar really shows the fish. The display works well in direct sunlight. As I gain more experience and time with this sonar I may change my rating.
