I have tried other well known brands of serpentine cable locks but found them difficult to use and I found very few that use combinations instead of keys. I can't add another key to my keychain so I like to use a combination lock and you can set the number yourself. The advantage of this lock is that it can lock objects in different ways: with a loop on the front and a secure loop on the back. The lock is easy to use and you can tighten the cable even after locking it, which is a great feature. It's nice to be able to lock everything together and then pull it back together. Make no mistake, this isn't a very thick cable, it would be easy to cut with the right tool, but if you're looking for a higher level of security you're looking for the wrong type of lock. Nothing can stop a determined thief, the question is rather how much time and effort it takes to pick this or that lock. The more security you need, the more inconvenience, cost and weight you have to endure. As for the type of security this lock offers, it works very smoothly and easily. walk away if someone is walking by and decides to snatch something out of the truck, like a shovel, axe, folding chair, etc. (It happens!)
