I would recommend comparing the functionality of these lightbulb apps to other brands' apps before purchasing to ensure you are getting lightbulbs that are compatible with the app that has the features you want. : END EDIT 2: ONE OF THE LIGHTS ON THE COLOR CHANGE PRESETS WAS JUST VERY RECENTLY FLICKING AND NOW IT WON'T STAY OUT. IT TURNS ON RANDOMLY. I EVEN TRIED TO SWITCH OFF THE DEVICES AT NIGHT IN CASE IT WAS AN ERROR IN THE APP AND IT STILL HAPPENS. EITHER THE LIGHT FIRES OR "NO PAIRING IS REQUIRED" LET THE NEXT JOKER WORRY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN ANY CASE. IF IT'S ALREADY REMOVED, IT WAS JUST A FEW MONTHS. TWO MORE onions followed the path of those mentioned above. It's been about 2 weeks since the first one started revealing CRAP BULB LIFE. These bulbs put out a brighter/more intense color than many Wi-Fi brands I've tried, but unfortunately the trade-off is a functionally lacking control app. At around $6 each, the price is also one of the best. I've tried different brands of Wi-Fi and for some reason the reds don't work and are very dim even when on at full brightness. I also hate that with Wi-Fi lightbulbs, if your network goes down you can't turn your damn lights on at a useful brightness level. I decided that I was better off switching to bluetooth lightbulbs because of these bugs and that's great and much better in terms of the lightbulbs themselves. Colors are much brighter and equally vivid, 60W power is 60W power regardless of control method. Unlike other Wi-Fi bulbs I've tried, the red on them is just as bright as the other colors. An annoying downside is that the app lacks some pretty obvious common sense features. It would be really nice if these companies didn't make their lightbulbs tied to their "proprietary" applications. These lights CAN emit whiter light, only there is no choice in the app. (One of the strobe presets is white light, so this feature is there.) You CANNOT adjust the brightness of ANY of the ripple/fade/strobe presets. They are just MAXIMUM BRIGHTNESS. If you're using individual colors, you can at least adjust the brightness, but what's so great about that? There is no trace of a "Create your own setup/program" standard, where you can set color changes, their timing and order. with adding changes to ripple or fade here and there or some sort of strobe to blue for example, then transition to a slow fade of rainbow shifts or whatever you decide. Like Wi-Fi lightbulbs, they force you to turn on GPS for some lightbulb or pairing function settings. This part makes no sense as it is functionally necessary. Nothing about sending Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to connected devices in range has anything to do with GPS, but whatever it is, I'm not trying to hide my location. So these bulbs have the best colors I've ever seen and the brightest reds I've ever seen. Don't even come close to completely blacking out a dark room even at full brightness, but the app kinda kills that if you're looking for full functionality and control. I'll keep looking for the best lightbulbs combined with app functionality as my searches so far have always been missing one or the other. It's always a choice of a great lightbulb with a junk application or a great application with sub-par lightbulbs. It would be nice to know the name of the application used prior to purchase just to see what features are present but.
