This pump is suitable for brewing. As it worked for the brew and only had a small problem with hop residue. I would not brew a hop brew without using a spider as the pump has a 1/4 inch internal size and has problems with "debris" in the stream. For a Bitter that was normal. For a fifth the price of a 'proper' pump I would give it five stars but the 'proper' pump scoffs at the hop litter pellets and I can see this pump faltering. You'll see, I don't have to deal with a lot of 'junk'. It's more powerful than you might expect (for its size). I've brewed a bitter (not a lot of hops) and it's only semi-clumped once. It was good for water and good for porridge. It cleared the clog on its own, but I'd expect a big hoppy IPA to be a problem without a hop spider. $ It's a problem getting it. It will come in handy for other things when you upgrade, and it works well enough on its own.
