SAVE ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS

This is a fantastic little device! I was very skeptical, but that's really the point! My mother died a little over two years ago and among her belongings were two piggy banks with photo albums, most of the photos in a shabby condition, and a shoe box. full of negativity. I wanted to send them to be digitized but all the services that do are so expensive! Enter this little device and voila - digital images from negatives! It's slow because you have to go through one image at a time. It also offers limited editing functionality for images that are visibly underexposed. I recommend buying a memory card. The internal memory of the device can only hold 5 images. Luckily I had a 32GB memory card so I can live for a while until it fills up. This little car will save me hundreds of dollars! While mailing the negatives would save me countless hours of manual work, I would be dissatisfied with the quality of the images as I do quite a bit of editing on the side. I'll probably have to edit once I get them back, so it won't really save much time. It converts 35mm, 110, and 126 film, slides, and Super 8. I don't have a Super 8 or 126 so I can't vouch for how it works on them, but it works exactly as I did for slides, 35mm and 110 film (and may I add who the heck EVER thought 110 was a good idea!?) You can then submit the images for printing or use your cloud service of choice to capture create digital albums and share them with your family. Now if only I could remember where all my negatives from my school days are. . . .

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
