Read the WIRING instructions carefully

I went back and forth for about a week before finally buying it. I read many reviews. Most of the negative reviews mentioned difficulties with small corrugated wire heads, and some people have LED lights when braking without a trailer. I went ahead and processed the order. Regarding small wire crimps with a black connector. I watched videos online several times and skimmed the manual before getting started. If you purchase this controller, READ the WIRING instructions carefully. I installed the cables correctly but kept the black receiver against the instructions. Hence it didn't work. I was immediately pissed and blamed that part haha. I calmed down and tried again. This time following the written instructions and voila, everything worked. I will say that the wires are very small and difficult to handle if more than 2 or 3 wires are plugged into their sockets. I would recommend trimming the insulation off another inch or so for more flexibility. As soon as I plugged it in I did a lap without a trailer and I also have flashing lights when I brake without a trailer. I ran to the dealership and bought a plastic cap from an aerosol can that slips on the body. It doesn't fit snugly at the moment, so I think I might try pulling the PVC a little tighter to really finish it off. Incidentally, the flashing brake light wasn't overly bothersome, but I only drove about 30 minutes last night and an hour this morning. Just thought I'd better have a way to hide those lights if they're annoying. Basically I'm satisfied so far. I'm hoping to hook it up to a trailer in the next day or two and see if it works, but in terms of installation. It's not that difficult if you follow the instructions. It took about 90 minutes to get it wrong, then fix it and finish it.
