I chose not to make 3/8" holes for the shaft holders, but instead drilled 5/16" holes for the rod (.31" diameter) and then used window sealant to make sure they didn't slip out would but still be can be removed in the future and damage the legs.They are used on a small Eastlake dresser with a mirror and the dark finish worked great.
