Versatile and reliable timer for hobby projects

I needed a way to turn small hobby projects on and off regularly. I stumbled across this set and was initially amazed by the simplicity and size. Ultimately, it's a lot more versatile than I expected, which is good! It comes pre-assembled and all I had to do was assemble the acrylic case. It was easy to make, but I ended up breaking a piece, although it wasn't anything serious and didn't affect the functionality or aesthetics of the set. This timer looks very nice, the buttons are pressed and the clamps feel very good. Although it claims to support 400W, I wouldn't use it for loads that high. The acrylic body is well made although I find the tolerances are very tight I had to apply some pressure to it and it ended up breaking. Like a timer, once set it works as expected, although there are many modes and it can be confusing at first. Initially it was quite difficult to use due to multiple supported modes. All I had to do was slow down and carefully read the instructions for each mode, and then I realized what I needed to do to make it work the way I wanted it to. Time and cycles are independent of each other. The other modes use trigger functions which seem very interesting and I could use some of them for other projects.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
