Review on 🔨 Urrea 1421 Finishing Hammer Round: Precision and Perfection in Every Strike by Adam Jenkins

I'll start with what I found funny. At the time of purchase, according to Revain's detail chapter, the country of origin was China, what was actually branded into the handle was Mexico. I've also seen other products under the same brand where people claim the product is made in the USA, the label says the origin is China, but the stamp is Mexico (do what you will with that). Now for the issues, as stated in the title, there really is no quality control on this item. Face: Both ends of the facets are sanded down to a fine sandpaper (think 60 or 40 grit) leaving deep grooves in the steel. Running my finger across my face almost feels like I'm about to get a splinter of metal (no smoothness). Another problem with faces is that there are areas that are sanded too much, making the face look lumpy, like hilly terrain. The face is not uniform, both faces should be slightly convex.2. Bell/Poll: That's right behind the face, that's what gives the face its shape. It's also bumpy and not round like it should be.3. Wedge and Eye Hole: This is the area where this rounded wedge at the top of the head is pressed into the handle and thus holds the head. This is weakened, causing the head to rock back and forth slightly. It's not that bad per se, it just takes a little more pounding on the wedge. But I have a problem with what looks like a wooden puddle that is placed in the eye hole to hide voids. I've never used it and it's starting to peel off. If this is the quality of this brand I will stay away from it in general. This tool looks and feels like it was handcrafted by an inexperienced person. I honestly have nothing against homemade tools, but if you don't care about the quality, it's hard for me! (Hint: works, they don't always convey all the details/flaws, so take what you want from them.)
