I have two boys, both skate, ride bikes, actually I'm not sure what they do with bikes would qualify as riding more like controlled violence. I bought them their first pair of DC many years ago and we also tried different shoes, none of the other shoes have ever withstood their children's punishment, the difference in quality is huge, my eldest son uses his foot as a brake, pierced a competitor's shoe sole A day later I was sold and since then I've been buying DC just for her so I bought a pair got a size bigger than me for her I'm not picky as I am about my kicks I wear them to work and I can couldn't imagine a more comfortable shoe, i'm out all day and the last thing on my mind is my feet, i'm tired of shopping for shoes they have worked in every way imaginable, DC is for me and i never look back.
