Review on Logitech X52 Flight Control System for Enhanced Optimization by Jagvir Singh ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It is of good quality, but I won't buy it again.

A lot of good ideas, rich functionality and comfortable ergonomics are combined with raw software and unsatisfactory quality of the filling. Attractive price. Probably, if there were more alternatives on the market of serious joysticks, it would be better. And so you have to choose between 1 trustmaster and 2 seitechs 8(. Not enough. Pros: Comfortable, ergonomic RUS and RUD handles. Grip width (nothing else is needed) RUS adapts. Multiple view switches (although I only use 1). Point-stick on the throttle replacing the functionality of the mouse; this is _very_ convenient - for example, when landing, you can move the field of view down a little to better see the runway and instruments. There is also a wheel with a button below it. Three additional axles on the throttle: one slider and two "twists". If the trigger is pressed harder, another button is activated; in my IL-2, I hung Fire1 + Fire2 on this button - it's convenient: you catch up with Bf109 from a distance - you shoot only ShKAS-os, flew closer - ShKAS + ShVAK; in addition, the problem is solved when the aircraft is equipped with only a second weapon (like the La-5). Finally, kicks (shift under the little finger in RUS) are very convenient. The buttons have two functions ("simple" and "with a shift"); serious simulators require a large number of buttons that must be at hand; pinky is a great alternative to the "keyboard" on the joystick. Possibility to attach an emulation of pressing a letter or a macro to the button. Suckers. Excellent appearance; joystick is pleasant to the touch. Button for bombing under the lid - stylish and convenient. At the base of the RUS, the keys move both up and down - again doubling the functionality. Cons below: Saitek in his repertoire. So crude software to a piece of iron I, perhaps, never met. It is considered normal to write "click ok" in the howto, and only continue in the window - these are trifles. After installing the due SST software, the button on the throttle (the one with i) disappeared. IL-2 does not see it, and it is not in the list of the SST itself, although it is present on the 3d model. I will not say that I have read all the documentation (and it is not always true) - only a part, but by itself or using an intuitive interface, the joystick profile is not set by default - you have to set it manually before starting the game. Just in case (as someone warned), I first started installing the software and the driver, and only then connected the device; in this sense, everything is fine, but otherwise there could be problems. Immediately noticed a bounce on the keys at the base of the RUS. I had a similar problem on the Saitek cyborg evo that I had before. The trapezoidal button on RUS does not work clearly.
