If you use a longer and larger diameter extension cord, the cord can get very hot. Using this extension is a good length and being smaller (12) it's thicker and its ends don't get hot at all. The trolley was even charged when it rained, which did not happen on purpose, but was closed with a plug connection and continued to function. Very happy with this purchase.
