I originally bought a pillow with built in speakers. I really didn't want to do without the usual pillow and the placement of the speakers wasn't optimal either. So I bought these ultra-thin pillows without a headband. I put them under my pillowcase and attach the cable to my iPhone. The cord is long enough to put the phone on the bedside table. The speakers are best heard when your ear is directly over them. I sleep on my side, so every time I roll over I have to find a seat directly above the speaker or very close to hear it quietly. I don't use them for bedtime stories but for a tinnitus retraining program I'm on where constant noises, even soft and even at night, are important right now to get my brain to think differently about tinnitus noises think constant. . So far that's good. They are very cheap so I don't have much confidence in their durability. But if I had to change them every few months or so, it wouldn't be too much of a problem. I'm still considering a headband, but at first I didn't think I could sleep with this thing. So, my only opinion can be on the speakers themselves putting out enough volume under the pillow case with ears directly above the speakers, I try to place the cables as much as possible and get the maximum out of them. Everyone.
