Over the years I have used DC cords for accessory plugs and connected batteries directly to many ham radios, CB radios and accessories. I bought this to provide automotive DC power for an HF ham radio that I take handheld. It can also be powered for mobile use in vehicles. The output of the connector has a built-in DC noise filter (larger capacity) to reduce the motor noise of all electrical components. I'm very impressed with the quality. At 13.8 volts DC and 8 amps, the drop in performance is negligible. I will be attaching Anderson Power Pole connectors to the cable and cutting it into 6 foot lengths for main use and an extension section. It seems to be the best quality I've ever seen.
