Review on Isolator Audiophile Frequency Without Distortion by Brett Blazis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fixed my issues with PC power supply noise seeping into the audio.

EDIT: 04/17/18 I found this device to remove noise. It adds its own harmonic distortion to the sound. Easily audible at the lower end of the frequency spectrum. It sounds like the signal is overloaded, causing content to pop and pop with loud low-frequency content. I guess I'll have to buy a new PSU and air conditioner or something. Or come up with something. Attached is a graph showing the frequency spectrum feedback test with and without an isolator on the output jack. With an isolator at the input of the output device, the test results are slightly worse. The white line is the result with an isolator. Green result without. ________________________________________________________________ This eliminated 95% of the poor power draw from my PC power supply into the audio line from my dedicated sound card and then back into my unbalanced converter to my monitors. It's better than trying to get a new power supply that hopefully doesn't leak into everything, or spending over a ton on voltage regulators hoping it works. (Power leaked even into the USB lines, so when I connected my phone to my monitors and then plugged the USB into the PC. The same noise leaked into the phone's audio. I tried doing the same thing with just that do USB cable plugged into the wall and the same extension cord as the PC. And there were no problems with the ground loop.)

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • replacement availability
