Review on Dorman 42601 HELP! Windshield Wiper Arm by Pete Gibson

Cheap replacement. Not the best but works

Works well and the price is right. I actually had to sand the paint off the pen at the end to get the wiper blade to match. It didn't fit due to the thickness of the paint, which caused confusion at first. The paint isn't the best either. The black paint turned dark gray quickly and could have been covered with a coat of paint. There is a part on the lever that allows you to pull the lever out of the window and then pull out a small tab to keep it off the window. This tab is not properly positioned and will not keep it off the window. At first I pushed it against the car a little bit away from where it should have been and I couldn't get it out. Someone showed me that if you can take the tension off a pin that's coming out of a window, it'll slip right off. Which isn't easy based on my note that the retractable tongue doesn't work properly. Keep one hand on the arm, the other on the round part, and then bend the arm outward with your thumbs. She should slide off immediately. This can also come in handy if you can't remove the old one. There is also an article on the Allpar website with advice on how to remove such a wiper arm if it is stuck. Another reviewer commented on the join point at the end. It makes sense, they had a U-shaped bend in the metal. This is for the caravan from 91-93, maybe older models, I don't know. The 94 and 95 models have a U-shaped end. Of course they are interchangeable in terms of connection to the car, but if you set this to 94/95 you will have to replace the wiper blade or use another attachment point that came in the original packaging.
