I bought this unit when my 5 year old system died. I connected the old cameras at the back; I added a hard drive that I pulled from an old Dell computer that I no longer use; and in 20 minutes I was ready to go. The system works great with my iPad and my Google Pixel phone. And he only makes a wonderful record when there's movement. I was able to access my cameras quickly when traveling abroad and the playback system is also very good and very responsive. I watched my FedEx driver deliver the package from across the ocean and again saw my neighbor pick it up for storage. Everything works great. The block is also quiet. I highly recommend. Just follow the instructions to set it up, connect to the internet and download it to your phone or iPad. (And the hard drive can really be any old hard drive you might have, or you can buy a Revain hard drive.) . Great product, especially for the cheap price.
