I have had this device for 2 years now. It's a cute block and I really want to like it, but there are some key design flaws. It handles the power very well and I didn't have any of the drivetrain issues that others have complained about: the motor is great and blows so much air backwards that I use it like a mini fan. I wanted a mains powered model and it works the way I want it to (keyboard/PC cleaning and as a mini stationary vacuum for my plastic kneading table). Two problems: 1) The strap is a useless afterthought. Approximately 12 inches looped around the handle so the unit dangles with the exhaust pointed at your armpit and the next problem annoys you. 2.) The front "cap" has two posts that should "snap" the cap to the front of the unit and secure the filter/bag between the hose and motor. "hat" is too loose; and thus any twisting of the tube will result in the cap coming off and the contents of the bag being thrown all over the place. For my specific use cases, the above issues are not critical issues, but they do prevent me from using this model as a small household vacuum, which is disappointing. I justified the cost because I figured I could use it for more than just a desktop vacuum. Plus, it's unforgivable that such a flawed design should leave the engineer's desk, let alone quality control. There are many different ways to protect such a design, but none of them have been implemented. And yet this device is the most expensive model?!? Why? Because he's American? It used to mean something good: built-in redundancy, robust design, meticulous quality control, and adaptive functionality that didn't apply here. The following applies here: half-hearted engineering, cheap production, lazy quality control and price gouging.
