we just moved into an old house. The washing machine connections were badly rusted but as we had just moved we didn't have the extra money to hire someone to fix them right away. went through a few tutorials online, came across a video of someone installing sharkbite valves and bought them along with a pipe cutter and deburring tool. I was skeptical that it was that easy because it seemed too good to be true, but it worked great and I finished it in under half an hour! A few tips I saw in the videos I watched before installing: - Leave the valves in the bags they come in until you're ready to put them on the pipe. if debris gets into the valve before it's installed, it may not seal properly or cause problems later. Make sure you smooth out any burrs (sharp edges will remain on the pipe where you cut off)! otherwise, burrs may cut and damage the seal. It sounds like a no-brainer to people who have experience with this sort of thing, but this is my first time doing something like this and I'm glad it stressed me out a lot.
