Review on Rutland 3 Inch Pellet 10 Feet Handle by Casey Murphy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well with limitations after some adjustments

The cord looks like a strong semi-rigid PVC profile. The brush is screwed onto a corrugated metal tip. There are a few things I had to do to use it to remove a straight carbide channel running in a finished wall. First apply a drop of red Loctite to the strands of the brush. This will prevent the head from detaching from the line and being pinched in the duct. I see no practical reason to remove the brush from the line. Second, and this will take some time and effort, the line needs to be straightened. I've found that it can't be used immediately as it gets stuck in the canal and won't feed more than 1ft. I clamped the end of the brush in a soft vise, used the heat of a hair dryer and, bending 1 foot sections at a time, began bending them half straight by hand. through the air duct (from outside the house to inside) and clean some of the villi. I should probably take the dryer out and repeat the process inside out. Note that I found it too stiff to fit through a 90 degree bend in a rigid duct or through a flexible duct connection between the dryer and the wall. Although the filter is cleaned of lint with each drying cycle, a lot of lint accumulates over time. Over time, the performance of the dehumidifier can decrease, which in extreme cases can lead to a fire. That being said, getting this job done every 5-10 years is probably enough for most home users. This is generally normal and is just one of several tools needed to properly clean the entire dryer system.

Pros
  • Soft bristles won't damage or scratch the tubes
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
