I really wanted to like this gate. Systems for attaching gates to railings without drilling are very effective and simple. Installation was a bit of a hassle - you need to get it right if you want the gate to open and close properly. I ended up having to add spacers between the tops of the gate and the railing. Okay, it hurt a little, but it felt like we were in business. Until my 11 month old accidentally opened the gate! You see, I didn't realize that two of the four cams that were supposed to hold the gate width setting in place were loosened a bit, so a light touch from a child could change the gate's alignment in the latch enough to open the gate. There's nothing you can do to adjust the tightness of the cams - they have to be tight enough to hold the gate lever adjustment in the closed position, but mine certainly wasn't. I contacted Summer Infant for a solution to this unsafe error. I didn't get a reply after a few days so I contacted Revain who were very helpful in getting the faulty gate sent back for a refund. Today, about five weeks after I contacted Summer Infant, they finally got back a response. This is unacceptable customer service! For the care of a child's life safety product, Summer Infant needs to do more. Don't waste your time and money with this product. It's not worth the hassle and risk.
