A painting tool is a very handy, versatile tool. It can be used for scraping, removing old caulk, filling holes, cleaning rollers, opening/closing paint cans, etc. This tool can do these jobs effectively, but it's not the best I've used. The nylon handle is a little small for my large hands and is smooth (no grip) and not very ergonomic. Although it has a metal cap ("hammer end") at the bottom of the handle, the rest of the handle is hollow and feels a bit fragile. I don't know how it will survive a fall from a ladder. Overall it's an effective tool, but it's fairly basic and probably not the best choice for the professional painter who uses it on a daily basis. However, this is fine for most homeowners.
