I've always used solid ceramic lighting that worked great until I started using an Exo Terra Solar Glo 160w bulb on one of my reptiles. This fully enclosed bulb overheated and quickly failed. I bought this solar lamp wire clip bulb to increase airflow and help it stay a little cooler. So far so good, the lamp lasts longer than before. It's worth it. Update: The device failed about 3 months after purchase. Lightbulbs stopped working. I called Zoo Med and told them about the problem. They took care of the problem quickly and I received a replacement that works fine. Their customer service is excellent for a large company like them. I will not hesitate to purchase your items in the future.
