After years of using a leash cap keeper on a super zoom point-and-shoot, when I got a new Canon RP with several lenses, I decided to get a cap keeper that attaches to my neck strap. It works OK, but during a recent trip to Sedona, Ariz., I dropped lens caps on the dusty trail three times and lost one cap altogether. I prefer these leashes with elastic bands to the ones that tie onto the camera. They work on long lenses, and if the wind blows enough to disturb a tripod shot, you can easily pull it off and wear on your wrist, if necessary. These caps fit snugly on my lenses, and if you lose one of these or the elastic wears out, they're inexpensive to replace.
