it worked! and worked well

So I have a Toyota Rav4 and a Lexus Is300. Rav4 was the first. and was very poor with a peeling clear coat. So I started first with 500 grit sandpaper on a drill press and sanded until the powder to be removed was white compared to the old yellow paint. After that I switched to 800 grit which smoothed out the scratches with 500 grit. I then switched to a Trizact disc and used a 409 bottle filled mostly with water and some dish soap. This is where the magic happens. One day clarity returned. I cleaned it and then switched to an orange buffing pad and buffing paste. Marvelous. (Tip: Apply a coin-sized amount of the compound to the foam, then apply the foam to the surface of the headlight until evenly distributed. This will reduce the knocking of the compound from the surface). If you see scratches after completion. Go back a few steps and then repeat the steps. Don't forget to seal the headlights. You have removed the clear UV protective coating. Use Rustoleum's special UV cleaner for plastics. But before you do. Clean the headlight with wax and grease remover as you would clean paint, or use rubbing alcohol on a clean rag. Much luck! take your time. Use blue masking tape, take your time and continue scrubbing the sandpaper with a microfiber cloth.
