Review on 🔩 English Steel Dowel Plate for DFM Applications by David Tadder

Only 4 stars because I haven't fully used it yet, just did some test dowels to check functionality and it worked as advertised. Not only is it competitively priced (depending on what you sneeze at) but it has more features. I need to make a fixture/mount for this and look forward to using it. I used to buy dowels and found that they were inconsistent in size (yes, I know wood shrinks and expands). However, you are also limited by the material of the store-bought dowels. This allows me to make mine from the wood of my choice. I have provided some pics of some coasters (maple) with dowels bought from the "hardwood" shop. I love making them as gifts and look forward to making some dowels bel in walnut or something darker as a contrast to better match the coasters themselves.
