Wix is second to none in the filters we all know. This extended drain filter (that's it) works by making the micron count higher (35 microns). Larger openings inside the filter (35 microns) provide more room for solids to accumulate, allowing the filter to run longer without clogging. These types of filters (large selection for synthetic oil) do not filter finer particles like standard filters. On the positive side, the stretcher is more durable even for such long intervals. No free lunch.
