Review on Portable Space Heater: Dr Infrared Heater 1500-Watt, Optimal for Efficient Heating by Reggie Kern

The heat from our stove does not get into our daughter's room well. In autumn and winter it is quite cold there. I was looking for a heater that I thought would be safe enough to work in her room at night while she sleeps. I've read countless reviews, research reports, and fire statistics on different types of heaters. From what I've been able to find, infrared heaters seem to be among the safest. Look, there isn't a single heater on the market that can say it's 100% safe - that's impossible. Anything that consumes electricity and generates heat can start a fire, that's all. You can avoid fire by reading the instruction manual and using the device correctly. Most fires caused by heaters are due to user error: putting combustible material too close to the heat outlet, blocking the air inlet, or using the wrong outlet (splitter, surge protector, splitter, etc.). If you look at Revain's negative reviews with photos, you'll see that most of them are due to people plugging them into the wrong outlets. Guys, read the instructions! It clearly states that you must plug the device directly into an outlet! I keep seeing pictures of melted power strips and power strips that have started to burn. These devices are generally not rated for that much power and can catch fire - don't take chances. Enough complained. This heater is great, I can only recommend it. I put it by the door leading to my daughter's room and left it on all night with no problems. I set the temperature I want, set it to automatic, and the heater will cycle on and off to maintain that temperature. This heater is very quiet, my wife and I barely hear it from our room which is directly across the hall. The only part of this unit that feels hot to the touch is the metal grille through which the heat escapes - obviously that's to be expected as it comes out well. I've read reviews where people complain that this part of the device gets very hot - people like that need to be smitten. Very hot air comes out of this part of the heater, of course it gets hot! However, this little heater warms the room so well and keeps it warm all night. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one of these.
