First off, it's great value for money, it's a very reliable headset. I own several audiophile headsets, as well as high-end wired and wireless headsets, so I tested the Stinger in games and music for comparison. I bought these because we have Cloud I and Cloud II at home and I've had them for a couple of years now and they still look brand new so I knew they would be comfortable and the sound signature would be set up pretty well. This is a bit heavier bass in a standard gaming setup with no amp or Astro mixamp. The bottom is very good, the middle is decent and the top is good. Essentially the Clouds 53mm drives were fitted as 50mm drivers as the only thing I can tell from acoustic testing is that the mids of my Cloud IIs are crisper for gaming and music. If you're using a mixamp, you won't be able to tell Cloud I from Cloud II. I use them with a TR mixamp and they are very comfortable. I have big ears and they cover them completely and offer decent noise cancellation too. One thing to note here is the noise cancellation, it's passive and not as good as the Cloud II, but I feel the Cloud I and II pinch my head a bit harshly and the Stingers don't. Memory foam ear pads and a lightweight frame make this headset discreet. The build quality seems very good and as for the microphone it works well and I haven't had any problems in this week of use. I'd sum it up as a $50 well spent if you're on a budget or just looking for a comfortable headset, because the Stinger has both. Now a few shortcomings that I see in the headset from my point of view. The mic stays plugged in all the time, which might be a downside for some. There is also no built-in microphone monitoring, which I can gather from the previous microphone tests. On the XB1, you can set up microphone monitoring in the accessories app with a newer model of controller with a 3.5mm jack and place it within an acceptable range. There's almost no mic monitoring when testing the PS4, but for $50 I'd say everything works with no apparent issues, and again it's compatible with mixamps, which is very attractive. I would definitely choose them over my A40 TR just for the comfort, not to mention the price. I'm hoping Kingston will eventually take this particular Stinger build and turn it into a Stinger II with higher build quality and even wireless connectivity that would make a better gaming headset. TLDR; The Stinger is a very comfortable, mixable headset that sounds very close to its big brothers Cloud I and Cloud II. You will have a hard time spending $50 and finding a better headset. I have compared many more expensive headsets to these headsets and they match these headsets in sound and comfort.
