Yes, the app sucks. This is my third video surveillance system with a DVR. I used to have an Owl and a Samsung. Both were sufficient. It's not like this. It worked fine for about 3 days then when I stopped worrying about all the bad reviews it stopped working. Tries to restart the phone and the DVR. It just stopped working out of the blue. Now I could play around with it for a few hours and try to get it working again, but let's face it. If this happened after just 3 days of use, what's the use of me getting it working again. I have these cameras to monitor my home when I'm away for days, weeks and sometimes months. I need something that won't break or switch off at the slightest sign of trouble because it's impossible to troubleshoot their CCTV system while in the middle of the woods with a backpack. Well, at least the quality of the camera is decent, so 2 stars. However, now I need to purchase a single high quality DVR from Amazon OR return this item. I'm not sure which yet, just know that I can't use these cameras with any of the DVRs I have because the picture is displayed in black and white on all but the ZOSI DVR that comes with cameras. Update: I found the IP Camera Basic Android app works with this DVR and camera system. It is easy to set up and absolutely stable. The only problem is that the basic (free) app only lets you add 6 cameras. I paid $4 for the Pro version and was able to add all 8 cameras. Now I can see my house all the time while I'm away. The second issue is that the resolution seems to be lower than the native Zosi app and I don't see a way to change this. Well, at least I don't have to buy an additional DVR. 3 stars and I still recommend another system.
