Due to the stress on the radio connector, the cable has partially lengthened. Finding a long body RJ11 plug is not easy, and then there is a crimping tool. This replacement cable was worth the money. Three screws on the back of the microphone loosened the clam shell. Disconnect the old cable, connect the new one, mount the cable gland and it's ready to be sealed. It took 5 minutes. Mt FT 8800 is back in service. You still need to reduce stress on the cable as it exits the radio on an RJ11 connector.
