Flashback Really - Video Games Plug & Play

If you grew up in the late '70s and early '80s, you most likely played the Atari 2600. Atari Flashback 2 is a journey into the past. You get a decent selection of some games for the 2600, although some of the best are excluded. No doubt for licensing reasons. Of the 40 games included, about 1/4 are unreleased or experimental games. Most feel incomplete or even broken. I find them pretty useless. All other games are playable and pretty much resemble the original 2600. There are audio and video glitches, but nothing major. The console itself is smaller and much lighter than the original 2600. The button layout is different but mostly reminiscent of the 2600 console. The difficulty buttons are now orange and seem useless. It's impossible to tell if they're pushed in or out, and they don't seem to do anything. The small instruction manual is completely useless. Fortunately, this isn't really necessary. The best device are the controllers. They look and function exactly like the original 2600 controllers. In an order note, it appears that some people ordering from Revain are getting the Flashback 2+ version of the game. The Plus version removes Pitfall, River Raid, Wizard, Caverns of Mars and Atari Climber. In turn, a sports section was added, which includes Realsports Boxing, Realsports Soccer, Super Baseball, Super Football, and Double Dunk. I recently ordered and received the regular version.
