Review on Tools Marples Woodworking Chisel M444114N by John Pound

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but not the best for hand and power tools

Useful as a chisel. However, the factory finish is rough. It took an hour to polish the back and bevels. I can understand the bevel, but the back needs to be polished during manufacture at the factory. With modern factories, Irwin should do it, not me. I am an experienced carpenter, I know how to sharpen tools. Many hobbyists consider the chisel ready to use. A blunt tool is dangerous.

Pros
  • Long blade and thin, contoured polypropylene handle provide increased leverage for added control, precision and comfort.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
