I've never tried quick yarn but after buying 12 skeins of hand dyed yarn I didn't want to suffer from it myself put in cake; I always manage to make a terrible mess! I don't understand how the yarn sailors avoid this, but they do. It was very easy to put the swift on my kitchen table and no effort to wrap yarn around it. I then twisted the yarn into a cake with a ball winder and was super happy when there wasn't a single ball! I had all 12 (good sized) skeins of yarn wrapped into cakes for half an hour. (probably less) High I can recommend this set, the price is very good compared to other brands and the quality is excellent. If you've been wanting to try Swift and Vader for a long time but didn't want to pay big bucks for it, then this set is for you! Don't hesitate, try it - you will be very satisfied.
