Amazing Value: MIG Welding Machine

You know, I open up a lot of foreign-made scrap. From simple brass fittings to complex electrical components such as televisions. You learn to recognize what is garbage and what is not. For example; If you go to Lowes, Home Depot, Menards or other similar stores and look at their plumbing, you will see a lot of junk. How do you get the "wrong" brass fitting? If it's brass then it should be good for certain applications right? No not like this. Even with things as simple as brass hardware, you can tell a world of difference between what you buy at Lowes or WallMart and what you can buy at a plumbing store. In local stores, the differences become apparent as soon as you open the box. This Hobart welder is much more solidly built than the "similar" welder (brand name) I, with all due respect, bought in one of the department stores recently. The packaging was a dense, two-layer, thick cardboard, fastened with staples. Not the simple single layer junk my (brand name) brought. The outer shell is made of stronger and thicker steel compared to the thinner outer shell (brand name). The wire feeder is all metal compared to most of my (brand name) plastic components. Hobart came with a 10ft MIG gun and 10ft clamp while (brand name) came with a 6ft and 10ft clamp cord. Every Hobart component was simply stronger than (brand name). This was the most obvious. Spring . actually everywhere. The gas regulator was MUCH better than the one that came with (brand name). The regulator was actually a Miller brand, which explains my previous statement. The instructions were very well done. Everything about this car's "fit and finish" was reliable; All components, from the MiG to the outer shell of the facility, appeared first class. Hobart/Miller spared no penny to put it together. Even the packaging was very well done and clearly not for the sake of economy. I was very worried about the regulator. The welder I bought (brand name) was non-standard. regulator, but this Hobart came with a much better regulator. I was much more impressed than the "Miller" stamp on the brass. It was just a much better product than anything I've seen before. In all of this, there were a few things that didn't sit well with me. The Hobart came with a "reference" wire spool. Not too bad since I already had the wire, but it's disappointing. A wrench was required to adjust the wire spool, but it wasn't necessary. A wing nut would be nice. When assembling the Hobart you will need a 10mm spanner and a 1/2 inch spanner. Pick a standard and stick to it. But it really comes down to the welding. Hobart really shone. I don't know if it was because the clamp was better with Hobart or the tip was better designed, or maybe it's just that I was happy with what seemed better gear and therefore did a better job but was with Hobart it easier to work. Whether it was pushing or pulling my beads, Hobart was just easier to work with than my (brand name) welder. ...more like me, the average user, would be this welder. So far it's been amazing.
