These flashlights use 3 AA batteries which are not normally included. They are very easy to use and come with everything to attach to the wall two ways, one way is just glue (which I used) and two screws if you want to attach them to the wall/surface. The remote works well and I hold it at the top of the frame which I highlight. It's so beautiful to be able to shine everywhere without unsightly strings. I used a light on the wall behind my sofa to create ambient light, very pretty as there is no outlet on that wall! I used a different light in my large tree planter, I usually just use the manual knob to turn it on and off as it's a cumbersome place to keep the remote. The only downside to these lights is that you have to increase or decrease the brightness of the light with the remote and use the timer for 15, 30, 60 and 120 minutes, but that's not a problem for me. A remote control works with two light sources if they are close enough to each other. Each set comes with two separate remote controls, so no problem. I like that the remote controls are so small and thin, each measuring 1.5 inches wide, 3.5 inches high and 0.3 inches deep. I am very happy to have bought these headlights.
