Review on ๐Ÿฅค Silver Omega Slow Masticating Juicer - Discontinued by Manufacturer - Optimize Your Search! by Mark Taylor

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ideal for 1 or 2 cups. It sucks to make big batches for the fridge.

Reliable motor, processes beets/carrots with ease. The carrying handle at the top is a positive. Gives dry pulp, so it is squeezed out and gives good juice! But not happy with this design. Feeding drive is really small. He has a problem with soft stuff (cucumber/orange) as he just can't push through. Alternating - cucumber, then carrots, then cucumber, etc. seems to help. But what if all I want is cucumber or fruit juice? My main complaints are: 1) It's a tough juicer, which means you can make large batches of juice to put in the fridge without having to make juice first when you're ready to drink it. BUT the container that collects the juice, maybe 2 cups. So making a pitcher out of juice means juicing for a while, pausing, pulling out the juice container, emptying the strainer, pouring juice into the pitcher, putting everything back, and then continuing juicing. This adds time and confusion. If the whole machine was higher, a larger container could be placed underneath. 2) There is no "shut off valve" on the juicer. If you pull out the collector to clean the strainer or pour juice, the juice will continue to drip/leak inside the machine. This increases the confusion. 3) The screw mill part is short, which makes the installation of the juicer/juice collector/pulp collector quite narrow in terms of space. If you need to remove the juice container while juicing to clean the strainer or to pour juice into something, that means moving the pulp container out of the way, which means scraping any dangling pulp out of the outlet. to shoot or stop him from falling on the counter like it happened to me. This adds time and confusion. All in all, this is my third juicer, my second masticatory juicer. I am a devout juicer. This is the dirtiest juicer I have ever used. And it makes me feel like I'm working on my juice more than any juicer I've used. Mind you, I'm making a little jug of juice. If you want to make two cups of juice and then stop and peel, this is a fantastic choice that should last a lifetime and you should buy it now. But if you want to use all the reason to get a chewy juicer (produces enough juice to put in the fridge later) I wouldn't buy this again and wouldn't recommend it. The flesh is dry, the juice is excellent, but the design and finish are disappointing.

Pros
  • Masticating juicer
Cons
  • Without machine
