I needed to connect a second monitor to my laptop and I was already using the laptop's only VGA output for the first monitor. The only other ports available were USB or mini-display outputs. I went with this mini display to HDMI cable and everything connected well once I connected each end and my extended dual monitor was set up perfectly. The price is great too!
