After reading the reviews I assumed that many people who had problems with this unit trusted the initial air pressure setting but then did NOT wait a few minutes and then check. again to see if he REALLY took the pressure. It's not like this. And if it holds some air pressure, it's probably random PSI - some kind of flexible airbag. The charge drops from 30psi to zero in seconds - much faster than any recoil pad can be screwed on - as if it were the real "solution" to setting PRECISE air pressure. I'm not entirely sure if it's just the stem and not the bladder given how quickly it lets air through. Therefore, the fill can be ANYTHING between the set pressure and zero. Standard shipping was also slower than necessary and Shurflo (Pentair) customer service referred me back to the Revain return: bad experience.
